About

Alecto Restructuring Ltd

Alecto Restructuring Ltd acquires claims, advises in matters that conventional channels have not resolved, mediates conflict, and undertakes collection on selective mandate. The firm acts where ordinary recourse has been exhausted, and is built around the disposition that work of this kind rewards: read the file accurately, identify what the counterparty actually responds to, and apply the right pressure at the right point for as long as it takes. The firm operates from London, is wholly owned, and answers to no committee.

Mandate

Claims that have been written down, written off, or quietly abandoned are reviewed on their own merits and assumed in full where the matter warrants. What is purchased becomes the firm's own — pricing is offered in writing, the firm does not bid against itself, and the seller's involvement ends at transfer. What is undertaken on retainer remains the client's, on agreed terms, and is closed out under those terms. The distinction is consequential and observed. Three families of matter recur and reward the same posture: a receivable the legal route will not return at face; a counterparty positioning that the courts cannot reach in time, in form, or at all; a debtor who has decided that silence and distance are a strategy. In each, the obligation is the object — not the counterparty's mood, situation, or remorse.

Advisory

Engagements are by application. The work concerns matters that do not survive disclosure, situations where reputational or relational exposure rules out conventional channels, and disputes that have escaped the categories under which they were first filed. Clients arrive by referral — from counsel who have exhausted what counsel can do, from advisers who handled the adjacent matter, from banks or family offices that cannot put the position on their own books, from people who have been through something comparable and know where it was taken. The firm does not solicit; it confirms. Discretion is a precondition, not a courtesy. The firm accepts a limited number of mandates each cycle and declines more than it takes. Declined matters are not explained.

Conflict mediation

Where the parties are locked and the matter can go neither to court nor into the open, the firm mediates in confidence. The work proceeds on the principle that acknowledgement and settlement are different objects: most disputes that have ossified at this point are stuck because one party requires the other to concede something the other cannot concede aloud. Properly handled, the settlement is delivered without requiring the acknowledgement, and the file is closed. The settlement holds because the firm holds operational authority over it for its duration — terms are documented, custody of sensitive material is held where it cannot be retrieved unilaterally, and the mechanism for breach is understood by both parties before they sign. Nothing of the interior of the mediation is recorded outside the room.

Collection on mandate

Where instructed, the firm pursues a claim for the original creditor under standing terms. Mandates are accepted selectively, on commercial paper, where the creditor wishes to retain the claim on its own balance sheet and engage the firm as the instrument by which the matter is worked. Engagements are written, scoped, and time-bounded. The firm reports against the file and not against activity. Outcomes are recovery, structured settlement, or a documented determination that further work will not yield — delivered without sentiment and without the theatre that has, in adjacent industries, replaced the work itself.

The name

Alecto is the elder of the three Erinyes — the unceasing one. In the older readings she does not act from wrath; she acts because the matter is unfinished. Where her sisters answer broken oaths and bloodshed, she answers the wider class of wrong: an obligation refused, a promise abandoned, an account left open by a party who has calculated that distance will close it. Hesiod names her; Virgil sends her up from the underworld to ignite a war that cannot afterwards be put out. She is not interested in the obligor's mood, excuses, or interior life — only in what was undertaken and remains undone. The firm takes the same view: a claim written off remains a claim, a wrong buried remains a wrong, an obligation deferred remains owed. Stoic in temperament, exact in method.

Apparatus

Operations rest on a modern technical stack, built and operated in-house. Agentic systems are used as instruments under direct supervision — for portfolio review, document and correspondence assembly, propensity analysis, monitoring, and the construction of evidentiary case files. They are not the product; they are the means by which a small house works at the scale of a larger one. The work is faster than counterparties expect because the file is built faster than counterparties expect. Every output crosses a human desk before it leaves. The firm does not publish its methods, does not sell its stack, and does not market its automation.
